In the Middle Ages, Arbonne was the summer residence of the bishops of Bayonne. Today it is a residential village. The church, the cemetery and the benoîterie are registered in the inventory of historical monuments. The village is made up of many houses with purely traditional facades.
Pushed by the increase of its population, the church of Saint-Laurent built in the 12th century had two successive transformations in the 15th and 17th century. The church is remarkable for its carved wooden galleries, its painted ceiling and its remarkable Pieta of the 16th century. In the cemetery, you can admire many discoidal steles. Today, there are exhibitions of paintings and crafts.
