Biriatou, a village where it is good to live.

Biriatou is a typical village with steep streets where it is good to live, and in which one combines at leisure, relaxation, good cuisine and sport. It is a village classified as a Registered Site for more than 60 years.

Backed by the mountains, Biriatou is rich in a double culture due to its proximity to Spain and its typically Basque architecture. The town hall, the pink sandstone church and the fronton give onto a charming little square, where every summer there are tournaments of pelota, bare hand and pala ancha.

Biriatou is on the way to the famous GR10. It is also the starting point of 2 hikes which will make you discover some superb panoramas, the pottoks and the vultures.

We recommend the tour of the Xoldo (2h30), a hike with moderate difficulty.
