Greedy visits and tastings

Artisans and producers of Basque specialties open their doors to you by organizing guided tours and tastings.

Our first suggestion takes you to Ascain, to the Cidrerie Txopinondo, for a visit of the cellar and a tasting of sagarno, the wine of Basque apples. A little further on, on the road to Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle, you can discover the local beer making at the Brasserie Akerbeltz. In season, guided tours are organized. A little further on, Le Confit d'Ascain artisan cannery, which uses only corn-fed ducks from the South-West, will offer you its many regional culinary specialties.

In Sare, at the foot of the Rhune, the Basque Cake Museum will allow you to discover the history and the stages of manufacture of this specialty. It is also possible to participate in a workshop where you will make your own basque cake with cherry or cream.
