The Guggenheim Museum is a museum of modern and contemporary art.
It is the Basque and Biscayan government that is at the origin of the construction of this magnificent establishment in order to detach itself from the industrial image that prevailed in Bilbao. His magnificent geometric shapes are due to the impressive work of Franck Gehry and his architectural firm. The museum opened its doors to visitors on October 17, 1997.
You will find at the Guggenheim temporary collections and the permanent collections of Richard Serra (the subject of Time) and Louise Bourgeois (Sculpture "Maman").
